Last call for nominations to the executive committee

Dear SIGTURK Members,

I am writing to kindly remind you on our upcoming election and invite all interested members to consider contributing to our community by becoming an official member of the executive committee. So far we have only received 3 interested parties for the officer positions. The administrative duties of officers are relatively low and it ensures the continuation of our community. These may include occasional long-term maintenance of our calendar, website and leading the organization of our workshop (which has a larger list of organizers that are not necessarily officers). You are also welcome to propose new duties for yourself in directions you find interesting and organize new activities or projects that can benefit our members. For students interested in long-term academic positions it is a great opportunity to gain experience and make new connections.

If you are a senior member with research experience you are welcome to self-nominate to be the Secretary, where you can take more responsibility in the communications and oversee long-term goals and agenda of the community.

You can express interest by directly emailing me or by replying to this email. The nominations will remain open until the end of this week, February 2nd, 2025.
