When I create a desktop shortcut by dragging it from the start menu other no longer have access to that program, how do i avoid this?

This has to do with creating the shortcut improperly, thus removing the shortcut for other who use that machine. A short video below walks you through how to properly create a windows 7 desktop shortcut.
