It certainly seems that Lion and Mtn Lion have moved the desktop closer to the iDevices (they call it Back to the Mac .. i.e. taking iDevice ideas back to the laptops and desktops)

The downside IMHO is that there is no mouse, and likely wouldn't work well at this point. So you type via a keyboard, but stretch to use the touch screen. There are navigation keys, but not sure how useful they are.
