Greetings and Welcome to the SF Bay Caving email list!

This list serves as a forum for cavers in the San Francisco Bay Area to chat about caving related topics, trips, and grotto news and business. Meeting times and other events will be announced here, and this email list will function as the official email list of the SFBC (once transition from the older Yahoo group is complete).

This list is moderated and semi-private. Anyone may ask to join it, but memberships must be approved by the moderators. Inappropriate content will be removed from the list and archives as soon as noticed by the moderators. Abuse of this list will result in warnings and possibly user removal and ban. Moderators will include but not be limited to the Executive committee of the SFBC.

As this list is sent to many people in our community please follow the guidelines set out below:

Keep subjects on the topic of caves/karst, caving and related activities, or items pertinent to the grotto
Please post links to pictures or other large files rather than including in the post directly. This forum has a size limit per post set at 1MB to encourage this.
Do not share cave locations here, do so through private channels with known individuals.
Anything you post here will live on the internet indefinitely, post as through your grandmother and great-grandchildren will read it (they actually might!).
When responding to one post in a multi-post digest email, please delete all previous content in the response except the post you are replying to. Google is usually good about this, but sometimes not. Reading through a bunch of >>> indented lines on multiple topics to get to a single line response can be confusing. Optionally, use the web forum to reply directly to the post without dealing with this.
Keep things polite and take personal conversations offline
Do not re-post or share content from this list without prior authorization of the author(s) of the content. Likewise, do not share or re-post content from other sources without the same!
