COVID-19 case this week.  Please test if feeling sick

It's back!  We had a nice period of no-COVID, but unfortunately we had a positive case on campus this week.  Most students and staff who have been sick over the last couple of months have not had COVID-19 so I know that we're all being a little more relaxed about testing.  Please get back into the habit of testing if you are ever feeling sick.  Hopefully we can keep COVID-19 under control this winter.

Support the girls volleyball team by going to Yogurtland today

Help support SET Girls Volleyball with soft serve from Yogurtland!  See the flyer for more details.

Picture day on Monday and Tuesday (10/17 and 10/18)

We are going to try to take most photos on Monday and we plan to use Tuesday as a make-up day.  We have a former student taking the photos, so there is no charge for digital copies of the photos if you would like them.  We'll let you know when they are available for download.

College Night -- Paying for College (Wed 10/19 @ 5:30 PM in person and Zoom)

I am the resident expert on paying for college since I now have one in college and a senior going through application hell right now.  I'll let you know what I've learned about the process and try my best to answer any questions that you may have.  This will also be a good time to meet Ms. Jokanovic who serves as our College Counselor and spends countless hours helping students complete their applications.  Ms. Hines deserves special mention for providing that college assistance as well!

The event will be in-person unless everyone attends on zoom.  Please respond to this email if you plan on attending live so that I can plan accordingly.  Otherwise, I'll see you online.  Here is the zoom link.

PSAT for all 9th and 10th graders and some 11th graders (10/25 during school)

We have all of our 9th and 10th graders take the PSAT so that they can get practice doing high-stakes testing.  Some of our 11th graders who wish to be in the running for the National Merit Scholarship will also take the test.  11th graders, if you are interested in taking the PSAT, please let Ms. Heath know so that we can make sure that we have enough tests.  11th and 12th graders would normally take the SAT instead, but we do not have enough students to be a testing site, so if you are interested in taking the SAT you would sign up for that yourself at CollegeBoard and choose a testing site.

Note that many schools no longer require the SAT and California public schools (UC and CalState) will not even look at them.  Please talk to any staff member if you are weighing the pros and cons of taking the SAT.

Thank you for a great Picnic and Open House!

Thank you so much to all of the parent volunteers who made the picnic a huge success.  I heard that there were parents running to Costco during the picnic to make sure that everyone was fed!  It was so great to meet so many of you.  We look forward to seeing you all at our future events!
