Note that the location of the picnic has changed due to the heat advisory for tomorrow!
Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,
It was pretty miserable down at the field today during lunch, and since tomorrow is supposed to be even hotter, we've all decided to move the picnic closer to our air conditioning. We figured that people would be seeking relief from the heat, anyway, so it makes sense to move the events to where the people are. It will be a little crowded, but hopefully enough people will brave the heat outside for at least a little while.
Since we'll already be up at school, we'll move directly into the Back to School Night portion of the event at 4:00 PM. This event is typically only for parents, but we're happy to have students attend as well as long as they give up seats in any full classrooms to parents. It is totally fine for the students to just hang out in the den or in front of the school while their parents go to class.
Here is the bell schedule for Back to School Night in case your student has some free periods.
The change in location for the picnic unfortunately makes my advice for where to park a little less convenient. Our garage will certainly fill up, and there is little to no overflow parking anywhere in our immediate neighborhood due to the construction. The least stressful parking option will be Option 4 on this map, but that is a bit more of a hike now that the event is no longer at Cabrillo. Maybe try Option 3 first and then move to Option 4 if it is full. Note that to get to Option 4 you have to go east on Aero Dr until you get to Afton.
Kona Ice will be in front of school from 4 to 5:30. Maybe we can get them to come a little bit earlier now that the picnic will be in front of the school. Here is the flyer.
Also, the following is from ASB re the raffle:
Dear Parents! This is Kameron Owens, the senior president of ASB. We wanted to notify you that during the picnic we will be having a raffle! The main prize will be a Flat screen TV, but even if you don't get it there are many more prizes to win! We are doing this as a fundraiser to help the seniors have a spectacular final year! Thank you and hope to see you all there!
Thanks everyone!
Dr. McCurdy
