Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians:

I have had questions about whether I've forgotten to include detail for the bullet points items that I feel can stand alone.  Going forward, to make it clear that I haven't forgotten to include detail, I will italicize all bullet points that don't need further detail.

  • No more donations needed for now!
  • Minimum Day on Thu (11/6): Pick-up at 1:25
  • Veterans Day holiday (10/10 and 10/11)
  • Mandatory annual notifications

No more donations needed for now!

Thank you so much for your generous support.  The response has been overwhelming.  While we try to figure out how to distribute the items to our families, let's put a temporary pause on the donations.  Our challenge is two-fold: 1) getting word to the families who have a need, and 2) distributing the items in a way that doesn't put unwanted attention on those families.  We are looking to see if any of the neighboring businesses would be willing to temporarily hold pre-packaged bags ready for pick-up.  In the meantime, anyone who has a need or who has a neighbor or friend who has a need, please do not hesitate to collect whatever is needed.  If you would like for us to create a pre-packaged bag for you that we can have ready to go for you, please respond to this email or email Ms. Cozik at sarah...@sethigh.org.  Please do not hesitate to email any of us with suggestions for how to best support our families during this time.

Thank you again for the incredible support!

Mandatory annual notifications

There are a whole series of notifications that we are required to email out each year.  The document is huge and the number of notifications can be overwhelming.  We like to think that the most important things are included in our Student and Parent Handbook and in the messages that we deliver throughout the year, but to make sure that we are including everything that you may need to know about education in California, the complete list of notifications can be found here. This list is compiled by the San Diego County Office of Education and adapted to be relevant to the high school age students at SET High.

Thanks everyone!

Dr. McCurdy
