Summer SET High Work Party (Build some Barn Doors!)

Dear Students, Parents, and Guardians,

I hope you are all having a fantastic summer!  I'll be building the two barn doors that we need for the den on Tue and Wed from 9 AM to 1 PM in case any students want to help out.  No experience is necessary.  I'd rather get students who are uncomfortable with power tools, actually, because this will be a good learning opportunity for them.

Parents, you are welcome to leave your student with me from 9 to 1, but be warned that there will be minimal supervision other than with those who are working directly with power tools.  I will be busy working on the project so I won't be able to pay attention to who is coming and going.

Mr. Apalategui has some students helping him paint his room during that time, so I'm sure he would be happy to have some extra painting help as well.

Please reply to this email if you will be joining me so that I have a sense of how many students will be coming.  New students are welcome as well!  There's no pressure to attend this work party since there will be plenty of opportunities throughout the year to volunteer.  I'm only expecting a few helping hands on this build; any more will just add to the chaos.

 

The teachers return on the 15th so you can expect some more emails from me about the start of the school year when we have all of the staff back on campus.
