Attention, Latin and non-Latin students alike: This is your week to celebrate the Classics--our GREEK & LATIN HERITAGE! As part of World Languages Week, St. Edward KNIGHTS OF THE TIBER have scheduled an exciting lineup of Latin & Greek festivities starting TODAY, that's Monday, April 17, with an address by GREEK DRAMA EXPERT Prof. Timothy Wutrich of Case Western Reserve University. His talk will take place during community period in the faculty-staff lounge & is open to all, lunches welcome! Tomorrow we'll hold our first annual CHARIOT RACES in the front yard, also during community period. All are welcome to attend these & other events in this weeklong celebration of the Classics. See flyers posted throughout the school for the rest of this week's festivities, culminating in a giant birthday celebration at 3:15 on Friday. Join us then, in the Kahl Atrium, to mark the 2,776th BIRTHDAY of the CITY OF ROME! For this special occasion, you'll need a ticket, but tickets are free & may be picked up from Mr. Cavoli or Mr. Knittel anytime Monday through Wednesday. For any & all remaining events, just scan the QR code & sign up that way. Join us throughout the week as we celebrate our GREEK & LATIN HERITAGE!

School Garden                                                                                                                                               Celebrate spring by joining garden club! We got plants, hens, baby chicks, worms, an egg business, and (soon) honeybees- what more could you want from an extra-curricular??? No experience necessary; we are always looking for new members. Plus, since all our work supports local food justice initiatives, your time counts as service! Grab your lunch and come on out to the garden on E days.

Stop by Mrs Hardin's room 216 with questions or to buy a cool garden club t-shirt for $10.

Rowing Team                                                                                                                                                                              Rowing had a solid weekend in Buffalo, where we saw teams from Michigan, Pennsylvania, and New York.

Official Results:

Varsity 4+: 4th out of 4

Junior Varsity 8+: 3rd out of 5

Junior Varsity 4+: 5th out of 8 (2 seconds off of 2nd)

Novice 8+: 3rd out of 3

Novice 4+: 3rd out of 8

Novice 4+: 4th out of 8

Overall, this was a good result which showed great signs of improvement from our Fall Season. Anyone who knows a rower in the hall, be sure to tell him a good job!

Edwardian Players                                                                                                                                                  The Edwardian Players Production of Disney's Newsies opens this weekend! Hosting a cast, crew, and pit of students from St. Ed's, St. Joe's and Magnificat, this show will leave you dancing and singing!

Set in turn-of-the century New York City, Newsies is the rousing tale of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy and leader of a band of teenaged "newsies." When titans of publishing raise distribution prices at the newsboys’ expense, Jack rallies newsies from across the city to strike against the unfair conditions and fight for what's right!

Based on the 1992 motion picture and inspired by a true story, Newsies features a Tony Award-winning score by Alan Menken (Little Shop of Horrors, Sister Act) and Jack Feldman. Featuring the now classic songs “Carrying the Banner,” “Seize the Day,” and “Santa Fe,” Newsies is packed with non-stop thrills and a timeless message, perfect for the whole family and every audience.
