Envisat Summer School 2006 on Earth System Monitoring & Modelling

The European Space Agency (ESA) invites young researchers to join leading
experts in Earth Observation, Earth System Modelling and Data Assimilation
for keynote lectures, hands-on computing practicals and poster sessions, on
the occasion of the third ESA Summer School 2006 on Earth System Monitoring
& Modelling, which will be held in ESRIN (Frascati) near Rome between 31
July and 11 Aug 2006.
The Summer School is open to young researchers worldwide.

The school is opened to young researchers (Ph.D. students, young post-doc) across the world belonging to a variety of Earth science disciplines (e.g. meteorology, oceanography, biology, remote sensing, modelling).
Participation is limited to a maximum of 65 students and is highly competitive (e.g. ESA received more than 200 applications from 47 countries for the 2nd ENVISAT school ).
All participants will be hosted in the beautifully appointed rooms of Grand Hotel Villa Tuscolana at a cost of about 60 EUR/night (half-board), which is an extremely low price for Rome.
There is no fee for the school but students are expected to cover their own travel and accommodation costs.
