...PRESS RELEASE...

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Nyack, NY - Entrants into the We-Are-Space Video Contest now have an extra week to hone their videos as the submission deadline has been pushed to June 14th. All the submitted videos will be featured online at Spacevidcast.com/wearespace on June 15th. The sponsors, the Space Frontier Foundation (SFF), Students for the Exploration of Space (SEDS), and Spacevidcast, ask everyone to create a short, well-crafted video that answers the question, "How will emerging low-cost access to space transform both the role of government space agencies and the lives of ordinary citizens?" The winner will be announced and have their video screened at the NewSpace Awards Gala, part of the NewSpace 2011 Conference, where they will also be presented with the $1000 prize. Visit spacefrontier.org/we-are-space for further information about the contest and share the promotional video (linked below) with those you think will be inspired by the question posed.

The winner will be selected based on the number of 'Likes' received and the opinions from panel of judges including SFF Executive Director William Watson, Project Manager Sara Meschberger, Spacevicast.com Founders Ben and Cariann Higginbotham, and SEDS Chairman Rick Hanton. All the submitted videos will be available at Spacevidcast.com/wearespace. You must have a Facebook account to vote.

The SFF, SEDS, and Spacevidcast are passionate about spreading information about space to a wider audience and helping to gain support for the next era of space exploration. You too can help support the space industry by inspiring the judges with your answers to the question and by sharing your favorite videos.
