Sorry to send two e-mails in a day, but here is the details for World Space Week. Also attached is a pdf of their volunteer positions that you can seek, they are very similar to an organization like Yuri's Night (and it happens almost exactly 6 months from Yuri's Night each year).
A reminder too that we are seeking a new Director of Educational Outreach for SEDS-USA if any members are interested. The position runs through the end of October (the individual could also seek reelection at SpaceVision if desired). Contact ch...@seds.org if interested.

Celebrate World Space Week, October 4-10
As shown repeatedly by Earth Day, many events with a common timeframe and name can efficiently impact society. Since its declaration by the UN in 1999, World Space Week, October 4-10 annually, provides such an opportunity for the global space community. Last year, 60 nations held over 500 World Space Week events.
World Space Week is an excellent opportunity for space supporters to get leverage from synchronization. I thus encourage every SEDS member and chapter to participate in this global celebration of space.
The steps are simple:
1) Plan space-related event(s) during October 4-10 annually
2) Add to the global calendar at www.worldspaceweek.org/calendar
3) Use the World Space Week name and logo (www.worldspaceweek.org/logo) in program materials
4) Tell the local media about your World Space Week plans
5) After your events, report results via the World Space Week website
Every event, no matter how small, is important. Whatever you do, please keep us informed of your plans and results. Thank you very much for considering this. I wish you a successful World Space Week!
