This stuff can be a pest and ruin a night of deepsky imaging, or it can be simply beautiful. I guess its all in the eye of the beholder as they say.

Brian, how visible is this with the naked eye?  I've taken plenty of shots through the years that had green banding through it that looked similar to what you captured and just chalked it up to bad seeing or skyglow.

This is probably the best photo I've seen of this phenomenon! I've had it show up in some of my older film astrophotos but never as starkly as this.

Brian, is it ok if I use it to teach my students about airglow bands in my Observational Astronomy course?
