Hi guys,

Ive been looking at alot of fast astrographs in the f/2.8 range and am getting more and more confused as to which route to take.

Ive nailed it down to two choices, the Boren Simon 8" f/2.8. or the Astro-Tech 8" f/3.8, kind of a big dif between the two in price

After reading about how they made the Boren Simon AG, its conclded that they are using an ASA 0.73 corrector/reducer and other upgrades like carbon
tubing.
Same thing with a few other medium to high price astrographs.
So my question is, why cant I just buy an ASA corrector and put it in my 10" f/4.5, and just upgrade?
Will an expensive idea like this work, and what might I be missing as to actually making it work?
I basically want a faster scope without having to dish out two and a half grand for an all new scope.

I dont know if anyone here can even answer this, or if this is an answer Ill understand by the mathematical geniuses on this list.
Ill try though

Thanks for the feedback,
Brian
