I am very very fortunate to have the skies clear out for about 2 hrs now, so of course I'm imaging with it.
I pointed at Sadr and see what you ae saying... I have to get rid of that.

Im going to try and put together the iris nebula since there isnt anything really bright enough around it.
The scope has potential, thats for sure, but not as sharp as my 10" meade SF.
I have to give tis optic time.
Right now Im using the mpcc flattener and not the Vixen coma corrector 3.
I need to get a moonlite instead of buying all thee adapters. I can get the vixen t fit in there with a threaded drawtube.

Ill keep you updated

Brian,

Here are some links and an attachment.  Maybe this will work.

Here are some images that I took before and after the mod when I first bought the
scope.  I still have it.  I have used it with both 35mm and a ccd.  The stock
focuser is pretty good.  Not great images, but you will get the idea. :)

after the mod below

You will notice the effect of the mirror retaining clips on the bright star.

I used a Canon 40D ..modified it myself. Not for faint of heart..or money.
Exposure were kinda short about 1.5mins x 24 each light frame @ 3200ISO

I stack all my images in PS because in my opinion, manually is better quality then letting a software stack it.
Try it, its tedious, but I think its worth it.

Well the winter storm is here and I'm smack dab in the southern boreal forest, So I must go out and take pictures :)

Brian,

I used about 1.5 inch segments of clear silicone (the kind that gets pretty hard -- Silicone 1, I think they call it) at three locations spaced 120 degrees around the
mirror.  It is still holding just fine after 10 years.

What camera did you use for that image?
