EAS 2026 – SKAO Special Session (deadline tomorrow)

Hola a todos,

As you know, the abstract submission deadline for the EAS 2026 Annual Meeting (Lausanne, 29 June) is tomorrow.

From the SKA-Spain coordination, I am particularly pleased to see that one of the sessions is chaired by our Spanish colleague Belén Alcalde Pampliega, in her role as SKA-Mid Operations Scientist at the SKA Observatory. The session is very timely, since is on “SKAO science verification and beyond: preparing users for the SKA era”.

Given the strong and growing involvement of the Spanish community in SKA-related science, this is an excellent opportunity to contribute actively and visibly to the discussion at a key moment for the Observatory.

You are still in time to give it a final push before tomorrow’s deadline :)

Dear SKAO community,

As the European Astronomical Society (EAS) annual meeting 2026 abstract submission deadline approaches, we would like to encourage you to submit your contributions to our session (SS20) “SKAO science verification and beyond: preparing users for the SKA era”scheduled for June 29^th in Laussane, Switzerland.  

This session is designed as a timely, one-day event led by the SKAO to prepare the community for the upcoming Science Verification (SV) process. While the program features experts invited talks and updates from SKAO, we have dedicated a whole block to community engagement. We strongly welcome ePoster submissions focused on SV ideas for SKA-Low SV AA2 to be presented during the session to foster open discussions.

For those located outside Europe, please look out for similar sessions being hosted in other regions soon!
