El plazo para la presentación de propuestas al Comité de
Asignación de Tiempo español (CAT) para tiempo de observación
nocturna en el semestre 2026B (GTC, TNG, WHT,
INT, NOT, Stella, LT, TCS, TTT y Mercator) finaliza el martes
7 de abril de 2026 a las 22:59 WET (23:59 CET, 21:59 UT).

Les rogamos que tengan en cuenta los cambios importantes introducidos en esta convocatoria:

Las propuestas deberán enviarse a través de la nueva herramienta. Asegúrense de que el/la IP y los/las Co-IP se registren con suficiente antelación y se familiaricen con la aplicación antes de la fecha límite:

Las solicitudes de soporte técnico relacionadas con el nuevo servicio de envío de propuestas deben dirigirse a helpdesk-cat[at]iac.es. -
Dejaremos de realizar convocatorias separadas periódicas para propuestas de observación nocturna en modo servicio en el NOT y el TNG.
A partir del semestre 2026B, las propuestas que soliciten menos de media noche por noche en el NOT y el TNG deberán presentarse a través de la convocatoria estándar para ser evaluadas por el CAT e identificarse como “Service” en la sección “Observing mode”. Estas observaciones serán realizadas por los operadores de los telescopios en modo servicio durante las noches programadas como noches de servicio. Las fechas se establecerán tras la reunión del CAT, pero se prevé un máximo de una noche de servicio al mes por telescopio. -
A partir del semestre 2026B se introducirá un esquema de “Fast Track” en el NOT y el TNG.
Todos los detalles sobre qué propuestas pueden acogerse a este esquema pueden consultarse en la convocatoria.

- Proposals should be submitted via the new tool. Please make sure PI and CoIs register with time and familiarize yourself with the app well before the deadline https://proposals.iac.es/. Requests for technical support with the new proposal submission service should be directed at helpdesk-cat[at]iac.es
- We will discontinue to have regular separate calls for service night proposals at NOT and TNG. Starting 2026B proposals requesting less than half a night per night at NOT and TNG will have to be submitted through the standard call to be evaluated by the CAT and identified as “Service” in the section “Observing mode” . These observations will be carried out by telescope operators in service mode, during the nights scheduled as service nights. The dates are established after the CAT meeting but a maximum of one service night per month per telescope is foreseen.

Starting in semester 2026B, a Fast Track scheme will be introduced at the NOT and TNG. All the details on what proposals qualify for this scheme can be found in the call for proposals.
