The James Webb Space Telescope (JWST) has enabled discoveries across a range of astronomical topics and scales, ranging from the nearby Solar System to the earliest galaxies that appeared in the Universe. I will share recent highlights in diverse areas from the global science community using JWST. Answers to some open questions may be beyond JWST’s capability, raising interest in a future flagship mission, the Habitable Worlds Observatory (HWO), to provide answers. HWO would search for signatures of life beyond Earth and support transformative astrophysics research. Such an ambitious mission requires international participation for success, and opportunities for involvement are open now.
