Dear colleagues in astronomy, astrophysics, astro particle physics, and related fields,
We are glad to announce that the KM3NeT and Pierre Auger Collaborations are extending the deadline for the open call to access KM3NeT and Pierre Auger Observatory data respectively. The call was launched on April 8th 2026 with the aim of stimulating and enhancing combined research across different fields for the study of multi messenger astronomy.
This opportunity is open to any external researcher or group of researchers that must submit a simple application and the access will be granted to some selected proposals on the basis of scientific merit after evaluation by an expert commission.
The Pierre Auger Project is the largest and most complete detector of Ultra High Energy air showers (energies > ~0.1 EeV), mostly produced by cosmic rays, and it has been operating since 2004. The Km3Net is the largest neutrino detector in the Northern Hemisphere, capable of recording showers and muons deep under the Mediterranean sea (energies > ~GeV).
This is the first call concerning cosmic rays (Pierre Auger) and neutrinos (Km3Net), and there are plans to have further calls in the future. This new opportunity has been enabled with extensive support from EU in the framework of the ACME project. You can find the details of the calls in the corresponding webpages:
Similar calls have been prepared under the ACME Consortium for other messengers, radio waves (Effelsberg, European VLBI Network - EVN, e-MERLIN and Low Frequency Array - LOFAR) as well as gamma rays (MAGIC) and optical, UV and infrared (Canada France Hawaii Telescope – CHFT).
The deadline for submission has been extended to July 20th, 2026, 12:00 UTC.
Following proposal submission, a Program Committee will evaluate proposals, with this cycle’s review conducted by a joint KM3NeT+Pierre Auger committee.
Please inform potentially interested people in your local environment or elsewhere about the call. If you have any inquiries before submission, you can contact the respective collaborations using the contact emails provided in the description of the calls.
Best regards,Enrique Zas on behalf of ACME Consortium
