Nos complace anunciar la apertura del plazo de preinscripción y envío de resúmenes para la conferencia Understanding the Universe through Large Scale Astronomical Surveys, que se celebrará en Teruel, del 5 al 9 de octubre de 2026.
Esta conferencia tiene como objetivo reunir a investigadores/as que trabajan en el ámbito de los grandes cartografiados astronómicos, con el fin principal de analizar cómo los proyectos actuales y futuros más ambiciosos están transformando áreas clave de la astrofísica, y explorar cómo las sinergias entre distintos proyectos pueden potenciar sus objetivos individuales.
La reunión, organizada por el Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón (CEFCA), aprovechará también para reconocer la contribución destacada en este ámbito del Prof. Mariano Moles, Director Fundador del CEFCA, cuya visión, liderazgo y determinación fueron fundamentales para la creación de esta institución y del Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre, donde actualmente se están llevando a cabo cartografiados astronómicos de gran campo como J-PAS y J-PLUS, entre otros.
La fecha límite para la preinscripción y el envío de resúmenes es el 15 de mayo de 2026.

We are pleased to announce that pre-registration and abstract submission are now open for the conference Understanding the Universe through Large Scale Astronomical Surveys, which will take place in Teruel, Spain, from October 5–9, 2026.
This conference aims to bring together researchers working across the full spectrum of modern astronomical survey science, with the main objective of exploring how the most ambitious current and future surveys are reshaping key areas of astrophysics, and how synergies among these projects can build on their individual goals.
Hosted by the Centro de Estudios de Física del Cosmos de Aragón (CEFCA), the meeting will also acknowledge the profound contribution in this topic of Prof. Mariano Moles, Founding Director of CEFCA, whose vision, leadership and determination were instrumental in the creation of this institution and of the Observatorio Astrofísico de Javalambre, where wide-field astronomical surveys like J-PAS and J-PLUS (among others) are currently being conducted.
The deadline for Pre-registration & Abstract submission is May 15th, 2026.
