For your info:

We are pleased to share with you a meeting announcement To Be or not to Be : Understanding the star,
the disk, and the stripped companions, held in Liège from July 13 to July 17 2026. As you know well,
the high-mass stellar population has played a fundamental role in shaping cosmic evolution and a large
fraction of these stars display prominent emission from self-ejected disks. These OBe stars probe a
variety of physical processes at the intersection of major topics in stellar astrophysics.

This workshop aims at providing an overview of the current state of the knowledge of these stars, as
well as assessing the most urgent open questions, notably on fast rotation, multiple variability
sources, multiplicity and evolution (including stripped stars and mergers). It will offer multi-scales
observational and theoretical perspectives, e.g. small-scale disk/stellar physics, star surfaces,
direct surroundings, large-scale orbits; short to long-term evolution, including pulsations and
outbursts ; single-star analyses and population studies.

Submission of abstracts for contributions is now open, with a deadline of 15 March 2026. Selection of
contributions will be announced by mid-April 2026 at the latest.

Registration will open in April, with a deadline of 15 May 2026 and the usual methods for electronic
payment. Note that the registration fee (350€) includes all lunches, coffee breaks, conference dinner,
and social activities.
