Dear all,

I would like to notify you that IFAC-CNR has opened a 1-year posdoc
position (Incarico di Ricerca, in Italian) to work on the Hera mission.

The candidate shall work in collaboration with myself and Francesco
Marzari on the topics related to the Working Group on Dynamics of the
Hera Team exploiting
the data expected since the arrival of the Hera to the Didymos system.

More specifically, the main topics will be related to the dynamics of
boulder potentially found in the system and to the post-impact dynamics
of the binary system, in view of the
new configuration of the bodies.

Therefore, competences in orbital dynamics, celestial mechanics and
planetary sciences will be required.
Programming skills in Fortran and Python, including knowledge of NASA
SPICE, are desirable too.

Due to administrative issues, the deadlines are very strict. The
applications must be sent by certified email (no paperwork requested) by
Monday 31/08/2026.
The selection will be held on-line on September 11, 2026 (TBC).

The candidates must hold a master degree either in physics or
mathematics or engineering, obtained not earlier than 6 years before the
publication of the call (i.e., not before August 14, 2020).

A PhD title, either in physics or mathematics or engineering, whilst not
compulsory, will represent a preferential title for applicants.

The net monthly salary will be 2022 euro. Travel funding will be
available for the main team meetings or related conferences.

Unfortunately, the call is only in Italian, however I guess it can be
