Dear colleagues,

The Department of Physics at Universidad de Santiago de Chile (USACH) invites applications for a full-time faculty position in Astrophysics to strengthen our Astrophysics bachelor program (with Data Science emphasis).

Applicants should pay particular attention to page 5 of the call, which details the specific scope of the astrophysics position. The selection process will incorporate a gender perspective in line with USACH policies.

About astro at USACH: Our institution currently has 5 astronomers and 2 space physicists within a large Physics Department. Interdisciplinary research is articulated via the Center for Interdisciplinary Research in Astrophysics and Space Science (CIRAS), with strong ties to informatics, biology, mathematics, and humanities. We also have a natural and growing collaboration with Planetario USACH. At the student level, we host a great cohort of undergraduates in our Bachelor in Astrophysics and Data Science, and we regularly supervise graduate students through the MSc and PhD programs in Physics.

Deadline: October 12, 2025.
