Dear Colleagues,
I would like to invite you to an upcoming meeting focused on the open call for the definition of second-generation surveys with the JPCam instrument, mounted on the Javalambre Survey Telescope (JST250).
JPCam is a state-of-the-art wide-field camera equipped with a mosaic of 14 large-format CCD detectors and an array of 54 narrowband and broadband filters, enabling panoramic observations across a 3.4-square-degree field of view.
The meeting will cover JPCam's operational modes, tools available for preparing proposals for large survey programs, and details of the call, which is planned for the second half of 2026. We also invite the scientific community to present concepts for ambitious, large-scale survey projects that could benefit from JPCam's capabilities, encouraging discussions on both scientific goals and technical requirements to help define and refine future second-generation surveys.
The meeting, organized by CEFCA and RIA, will be held in Teruel on the 2nd and 3rd of June, with both in-person and remote participation options available.
Detailed information and the registration form are
available on the meeting webpage:
https://riastronomia.es/en/preparing-the-open-call-for-second-generation-surveys-with-the-jst250-at-the-oaj-2026/
As a reminder, the deadline for the submission of Letters of
Intent is 30 April 2026 at 14:00 CEST. These Letters of Intent are
intended to outline the scientific rationale, legacy value, and a
preliminary observing strategy of the proposed surveys, helping to
shape the scope of the call and foster coordination and synergies
within the community.
Best regards,
