Dear colleagues (hold your horses, this is a long email),

Today the registration period opens to attend the HoRS3S conference, which will take place in Granada (Spain) from 6 to 10 July 2026. We hope many of you will saddle up and join us for what promises to be a memorable scientific ride.

The early bird registration fee is 355 EUR, which includes coffee breaks, lunches, and a welcoming cocktail. Early bird registration closes on May 15. Registrations after this date will incur a 50 EUR surcharge, so don’t let the opportunity gallop away. The hard deadline for registration is June 1.

Please register here: https://sites.google.com/view/hors3s/registration?authuser=0

During registration you will be able to include the social activities of your will, which I can guarantee will be unforgettable. The activities include:
    1) a private night visit to the Alhambra,
    2) a private guided tour (in English) of Granada,
    3) a conference gala dinner in La Chumbera with spectacular views to the Alhambra and the city (the mane event)
    4) an excursion to UNESCO's Global Geopark married with a stargazing dinner at the Complejo Astronomico Los Coloraos in Gorafe.

You can find more information and prices in the "Registration" tab of the conference website.

ATTENTION EARLY-CAREER RESEARCHERS. As you may remember from pre-registration, we will offer 15 grants for early-career researchers with economic support needs to attend the conference at a reduced registration fee of 75 EUR. If you would like to throw your hat in the ring for one of these grants, you must register before April 15, tick “Yes” in the registration form, and provide a paragraph or two explaining why. The fee for registration will be waived at that time, so you can complete the process without having to pony up immediately. All applications will be reviewed by the SOC shortly after the deadline so that both successful and unsuccessful applicants can finalize their payment before the early-bird deadline on May 15.

The outcome from the abstract submission has also been revealed today. The abstracts (well over 200) have all been evaluated blindly by SOC members (avoiding conflicts of interest) and then reviewed to reach a balanced program. Only 69 abstracts could be selected as oral contributions in order to keep a sensible schedule
, which will lead to a very rich poster session. We will work hard to make sure posters and poster presenters have a proper chance to show their horsepower during the conference.

For all information related to the conference, please visit the
conference website or contact us directly!

Looking forward to welcoming the whole herd in Granada very soon.

All the best,
Rafa (on behalf of the SOC)

SOC: Megan Bedell, Matteo Brogi, Andrea Chiavassa, Elisa Delgado Mena, Laura Kreidberg, Karin Lind, Christophe Lovis, Rafael Luque, Paul Mollière, Vivien Parmentier, Julia Seidel, Yapeng Zhang
