Since yesterday's shift supervisor meeting suggested that the planer cutting thickness gauges are being used, this information might help with that.
One side of the Wixey WR550 Digital Planing Thickness Placards (hanging on the sides of the planers) shows how to set planer cutting thickness settings if the readouts are accurate.  Otherwise, the procedures for making a suitable re-calibration board provided on the other side of the placard can be used.
The Checking and Calibrating the Wixey WR550 Digital Planing Thickness Gauges document shows how to check and re-calibrate the readouts if necessary.
The Planer Placards on top of the planers show permissible uses of the planers as well as recommended and maximum cutting depths/power draws per pass.
It would be very helpful if entries were made in the shop log whenever re-calibrations are deemed necessary/performed, circuit breakers trip, or any other planer problems are experienced.
