Hello SCSMI!
I am really pleased to announce that next year I will be convening a brand new Master's Degree at the University of Birmingham (UK).
I'd be so grateful if you could inform any potentially interested undergraduate students looking to study in the UK of this exciting opportunity!
The six modules are designed to appeal to students from a wide range of film and television corners, but those invested in
evidence-based approaches, cognitive film studies, analytic philosophy of film, video essay production, and screenwriting might be particularly interested. The six modules include:
Movies, Emotions, and the Mind
Advanced Audiovisual Storytelling
Advanced Writing for the Screen
Philosophy and Ethics of the Screen
Screen Histories, Cultures, and Technologies
Topics in Screen Studies, Cultures, and Industries
The dissertation options include 1) a 12,000-word dissertation or 2) a feature-length screenplay (90-120 pages maximum) (100%)
You can find out more including entry requirements, fees, and how to apply
here.
I'm also happy to field any questions about the programme at this email address:
a.p.s...@bham.ac.uk.
Thanks!
All the very best,
Alaina
