This launch event brings together people who have created creative works about sexual abuse in childhood and academic scholars who research the cultural ramifications of creative works. Its speakers include people with lived experience of sexual abuse in childhood and/or who work as academic scholars in a range of humanities and social science fields. Together they will discuss their creative works and their approaches to carrying out this work in a dialogue that will shed light on what is involved in these creative and research practices and how they can inform each other.

The CSAReps project is a European Research Council Starting Grant funded project which examines the nature and social impact of fictional representations of child sexual abuse. It explores how child sexual abuse is represented in contemporary fictional works such as novels, films and television series. And it investigates how this fiction affects people who read and watch it, especially people who have experienced sexual abuse in childhood.

The project team gratefully acknowledge the generosity of the speakers in giving their time and expertise to supporting the project and its launch event.

Zoom link will be sent to attendees. Any questions please contact CSA...@ucd.ie
