Hello P195 families,
We as a Pack would like to participate in the annual Franklin Food Bank food drive, like we do every year. This year, their preference is again we do a virtual food drive (donate $$ via their website, as they claim they can generally get $3 worth of food for a $1 donation, compared what you'd pay at a grocery store). But we will also add an option to bring the items in need (no refrigerated goods) to one of our 2 upcoming cubscout meetings - Mon Nov 15, and Mon Nov 22.
For the virtual food drive, we encourage you to speak with your scout(s) about importance of donating to the less fortunate, especially now during the pandemic. If you could convince them to donate few dollars from their own allowance, they might feel like they are also making an impact themselves.
All the items we as a Pack collect, we will deliver to the food bank on Tue Nov 23rd 9am-1pm (let us know if you'd like to volunteer for the drop-off).
Separate from our food drive, they have an urgent need for frozen turkeys or ham (that they will pack into thanksgiving food boxes, they plan to hand out, their goal is 2000 boxes!!!), The 2 dates available for frozen turkey drop-off are - Nov 13th, and Nov 12th 9am-11am at 224 Churchill Ave (there will be a freezer truck in front of the food bank).
Thanks,
Peter Kostik
