Hi everyone,
Last year, our pack participated in a Fall Leaf cleanup to help seniors and disabled residents within Somerset County. This was a great experience, because after all...scouts are helpful!

Somerset County is again in need of volunteers to help rake leaves for their elderly, frail, homebound and disabled residents.

The set date to do so is Saturday, November 21 from 8:30am -12:30pm **You would NOT need to commit to the entire 4 hours, give what time you can.

All help is welcome, but leaf raking may be difficult for some of our younger scouts (unless parents are willing to help out). This project would be particularly great for our older scouts (Bears, Webleos and AOL). Last year, we had about 7 adults and could have used a few more to have made the work go faster.

This is definitely a task that can be done socially distanced, as we will be outside and scouts can spread out throughout a property.

The County does asked for preferred towns to work in, so I am requesting Franklin Twsp. and surrounding towns (Bound Brook, South BB, Millstone) so there will be no need to travel a distance.

We will need to bring our own rakes, leaf blowers, gloves and any other desired lawn equipment to make the job easier. So if you have those items, please consider brining them. Leaf bags will be provided by the resident.

Last year, we were assigned 2 properties. I will not request an assignment until I know how many people will be there, so that I can be sure we can finish the job.

I will need to let the County know how many volunteers we have as soon as possible, so please let me know if you can help out.
Feel free to email me at dtbe...@yahoo.com or you can text me at 732-207-4152.

Please consider giving your time if you are available on 11/21. This time will count towards your scout's community service hours.

Your help is greatly appreciated,
Dolores
