Updates for Troop 132/1132 week of 2/22/26

Today we welcomed 3 new Scouts to Troop 132 and 3 new Scouts to Troop 1132.  We are excited to welcome our new Scouts to our troops and guide them on their Scouting journey.  I also want to talk about the registration and payment process for campouts / troop events.  We have deadlines in place so that we have an accurate count on who is attending as well budgeting properly such as proper amount of food or for next month enough tickets for the hockey game. The last 2 events we have had a hard time having kids register and paying on time.  This makes it difficult for us to plan properly.  Please try to make sure you read the deadlines in this email.  Your scout is also aware of these deadlines as they are announced twice during each meeting.  We understand that the scouts are involved in other activities outside of scouting and that sometimes deadlines are difficult to meet.  Please have your scout come see Mr Flannigan if there is an issue.  Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.


Upcoming Troop Meeting

  • Wednesday, February 25th – Regular Troop Meeting - Class A Uniform - Guest Speaker

  • Wednesday, March 4th - PLC Meeting 6:30 - Regular Troop Meeting - Class B uniform - New Scout Parents Meeting 7:15pm

  • Wednesday, March 11th – Regular Troop Meeting - Class A Uniform


Klondike Derby 2026

  • Date: Saturday, February 28, 2026

  • Location: Goose Pond Scout Reservation

  • Cost:  $15 due February 25th

  • We Will not be camping

  • We will be meeting at Goose Pond at 7:30am in the Shale Pit

  • Pickup time will be announced soon.

  • Last day to register is Wednesday February 25th.  WE NEED TO KNOW ASAP!!

Fundraiser 

  • We are selling Beef Sticks for $1.50 with $.75 per stick sold going to the individual Scout account.
  • All Money and order forms are due February 25th.  There will be NO extensions!!

New Scout Parents Meeting
  • March 4th 7:15pm
  • Where:  In the Church
  • All new Troop members parents or any other parent who would like to attend.
Scout Night at the Penguins
  • Date:  March 28th
  • Cost:  $23 per person
  • Deadline to Register:  March 11th
  • Signup sheet attached and will also be available at the meetings
  • Class A uniform required
We have once again been invited to hold the large flag on the ice during the National Anthem.  All Scouts and leaders must be in Class A uniforms to participate.  You must also have a ticket to the game.  Each person attending the game must purchase a ticket and you can purchase those tickets through the troop.  The signup form is attached to this email.

March Campout
  • March 20-22
  • Cost:  $25
  • Where:  Hawk Mountain Scout Reservation - tentative
  • Deadline to register and pay is March 11th
  • This will be our first tent campout of 2025
The location may change based on registration.  In order to go to this camp they require payment for each scout and leader attending in advance.  We need payment no later than March 11th if we want to go to Hawk Mountain.


Summer Camp 2026

It’s not too early to start thinking about Summer Camp 2026. We will begin collecting deposits in January 2026. 

  • Cost: For Scouts $455 before May 15th - $485 after May 15th 
  • When: July 12th to July 18th


Medical Forms

Medical forms are valid for one year only. If you plan to attend summer camp, you will need a current medical form that has not expired.

Summer camp requires Parts A, B1, B2, and C, along with a copy of your health insurance card.


Please do not wait until the last minute to submit updated forms.

Rechartering


You may have received a notice stating that your Scout is not registered. Please rest assured, this is not the case.


Troop 132/1132 has already paid the national individual scout registration fee for all Scouts who registered since September and whose membership would have expired before December 31, 2025. A Scout is considered registered once their payment and paperwork are submitted to the Council Office.


Our Troop has also completed the unit rechartering process. The NEPA Council has until March 1, 2026, to submit the overall Council.

If you have paid your dues please disregard any “not registered” messages you receive. Your Scout is fully registered and in good standing. If you have not paid or are unsure if you paid please see a leader at our upcoming meeting.
