Updates week of 4/19 Troop 132/1132

WE had a great weekend at CAmp Acahela.  Lots of advancement completed.  May we will be attending the Dan Beard District Camporee May 15th to May 17th.  We will be working on the Aviation Merit Badge.  Cost is $25.  More info coming this week.  Meghan Gownley is working on her Eagle Project and has a list of items she can use.  I have attached it to this email.  We will be collecting items through the month of April.   I have attached the flier to this email.  Summer Camp payment and Health Forms are being collected now.  Please do not wait until the last minute.  Scouts can't pick their Merit Badges until payment is made and classes due to fill up.

  Fundraising

  • We will be starting another fundraiser with a deadline of April 29th.  
  • What :  Applebee's Burgers for a Cause
  • Cost:  $13
  • Order forms are attached.  This works just like Krispy Kreme fundraiser where you take preorders and collect the money.  There is a minimum of 100 certificates that must be sold.  If we do not meet the minimum we will not be able to participate.  Please sell sell sell.  $9 from each certificate will go to your scouts account.  This is a good fundraiser to make a last minute effort to offset the cost of camp.

  
  

  Swim Test 

  When:  May 20th

  Where:  Carbondale YMCA

  Time:  5:30-7:00

  This is the annual swim test for summer camp.  Please make every effort to attend if you are planning on going to summer camp.  More details to come.

  Troop Records update

  You may have received a message that you were removed from our Remind group.  Please do not be alarmed as we are updating our records.  You are not being removed from the troop.  You will receive a new invite to the group soon.  

  Service Opportunity

  
  

  Every scout needs to do service for their rank.  We have some opportunities coming up in the Spring.  Time and location will be announced soon.  If anyone is looking for a small project to do on their own please see Mr. Flannigan.

  
  

  Summer Camp 2026

  It’s not too early to start thinking about Summer Camp 2026. We will begin collecting deposits in January 2026. 

  • Cost: For Scouts $455 before May 15th - $485 after May 15th 
  • When: July 12th to July 18th

  Medical Forms

  Medical forms are valid for one year only. If you plan to attend summer camp, you will need a current medical form that has not expired.

  Summer camp requires Parts A, B1, B2, and C, along with a copy of your health insurance card.
