Hey Scio Flyers,
I am incredibly proud to share some fantastic news with you all: our UAS4STEM Drone Engineering team has officially qualified for the National Championships in Oshkosh this summer!
This journey began back in October 2025, when our students came together with a shared passion for aviation and technology. Over the past several months, the team has worked tirelessly—mastering everything from complex circuit assembly and soldering to programming autonomous flight paths. Every member also successfully navigated the rigorous AMA Ground School requirements to prepare for the competition.
All of that hard work culminated in the preliminary competition, where the team's technical skill and "safety-first" culture really stood out to the judges. Their performance has earned them a spot to compete at the championships from July 19 through July 22, 2026.
This program is a core part of our mission to inspire the next generation of STEM leaders through model aviation. We want to thank our mentors, parents, and the entire Scio Flyers membership for the support that makes this achievement possible.
Please join me in congratulating our student pilots and engineers on this incredible milestone!
Let’s fly,
Jim
