Hi Scio Flyers,
It’s that time of year again! We are gearing up for the Toledo R/C Swap Meet & Expo on April 10 & 11. This event is a significant fundraiser for our club, and the proceeds go a long way in supporting our activities and field maintenance.
Ken Jablonski is once again our point man for this effort. To make this a success (and to make the setup in Toledo as smooth as possible), we need your help with donations and logistics.
If you have R/C items you’d like to donate to the club for resale, please bring them to the Annual Membership Meeting this Saturday.
Condition: Please ensure items are "gently used" and in decent, sellable shape.
Goal: We will be working with Ken immediately after the meeting to organize and price these items. This will help us get things setup in Toledo much more easily.
💰 Early Bird Bonus: One of the perks of helping out is getting first eyes on the gear! While we’re organizing and pricing, you might just spot that "must-have" item before it ever hits the floor in Toledo. Feel free to make a deal and help the club out early—bring your checkbook just in case!
Ken has a significant amount of gear stored at his hangar at Willow Run Airport that needs to be moved and processed. We are looking for volunteers to help with the following:
Morning: Help transport items from Willow Run Airport to the Township Hall.
After Meeting: Help organize and price all donated gear.
Post-Meeting: Move the organized items from the Township Hall to Ken’s home garage.
💡 Pro Tip: We are especially looking for volunteers with trucks or SUVs! Having extra cargo space will make moving the gear from the hangar and the hall a breeze.
Note: Ken’s home is less than two miles from the Township Hall, so the final move will be very quick! We will provide his specific address to volunteers during the meeting.
To help everyone find their way, here are the locations for Saturday:
Ken’s Hangar (Willow Run): Use this link for precise GPS directions.
Annual Meeting Location: Scio Township Hall, 827 N Zeeb Rd, Ann Arbor, MI 48103.
11:00 AM: Meet at Ken’s Hangar for load-up.
2:00 PM: Annual Membership Meeting at Township Hall.
Post-Meeting: Sorting, pricing, and final short trip to Ken's garage (immediately following the meeting).
This is a significant effort, and it directly benefits the club through the proceeds we generate. If you can assist with any part of the day, please let us know or simply show up ready to pitch in!
See you Saturday,
Jim

Good morning, Jim and Scio Flyers,
My name is Paul Mroz and I’ve just moved back to Dexter from TN. I came out to your winter Fanny Freezze, meet some wonder people, I was the English guy.
Was planning to come to the meeting tomorrow and sign up. I read your email below and would love to help move planes from the hanger, I have a Mini Van.
Is there a code to get to the hanger ?
Also, I have a brand new in the box never built, like to bring and donate to the club.

Look forward to seeing all tomorrow,
Cheers
Paul Mroz
