Hello, from a NTID/RIT research team including Drs. Robert Pollard and Robyn Dean.
We are conducting a new study, examining correlations between sign language interpreting and
chronic stress by measuring cortisol levels in saliva samples. We are recruiting female
interpreters between ages 18-45 and women who use sign language at work but who are not
interpreters. Subjects must use sign language at work at least 12 hours per week. Subjects will
be provided with kits to collect saliva samples over a two-day period. Subjects also will be asked
to complete questionnaires and a daily log concerning health topics, stress, and sleep patterns.
Subjects will be compensated $75.00 for participating. Please see/share the attached flyer for
