Cross-Cultural Mentoring: Let's Bridge the Gap
Presented By: Royce Carpenter

The workshop will teach interpreting professionals and students to analyze their thoughts concerning cross-cultural mentoring. Nuances and dynamics of diverse ideas, language, perspectives associated within and outside of their own cultural norms will be addressed. Ethical decisions related to discussing culturally relevant issues in the Black Deaf and Black hearing communities and how they impact the interpreting process and consumer satisfaction would be explored. The workshop will teach techniques for cross-cultural mentoring conflict resolution.
