This 2-hour webinar will cover the importance of cultural knowledge, awareness, and sensitivity in the healthcare environment. It is directed toward anyone on the healthcare team who affects patient experience from registration to discharge.
Content Focus:
- A high-level deconstruction of "culture" based on traditions, values, religions, gender/age differences, dress, foods, socioeconomic status, countries/regions, etc.
- Discuss the interpreter’s role in the patient/provider interaction and recognize the importance of a pre-session.
- Awareness of the function of culture in shaping our perception of others, and theirs of us
- Understanding the central role of culture in the way we communicate
- It is possible to be culturally "competent" in a multicultural, professional environment

About the Trainer:
Ron Jiminez, CHI, is currently Optionline's North and La n America Regional Manager of Digital Marketing and Public Relations where he writes, edits, translates, and executes multilingual digital marketing campaigns, and presents at events in multiple countries. Ron has many years of experience as a Spanish and Portuguese Video Medical Interpreter as well as a former Martti recruiter. In addition, he has a broad experience in non-English speaking professional environments, with 11 years of international marketing/training experience in the Latin American Scientific-Technical-Government sector and another 10 in Hospital, Banking, and Hospitality.
