On Holy and Great Friday night, we commemorate the crucifixion and sacrifice of our Lord Jesus Christ, who gave His life for us.
At the Great and Holy Friday evening service, called the Lamentations at the Tomb, the priest processes the Epitaphios/Plastanica around the nave and places it in the Sepulcher, a bier symbolizing the Tomb of Christ, representing Christ's descent into Hades.
It is a long tradition to decorate the Tomb of Christ with Flowers.
If you would like to participate and bring flowers, please bring them on:
- Holy Thursday April 17, 2025 during the morning Liturgy from 9-10:30 AM (OR)
- Holy Thursday April 17, 2025 Vesper Service at 6 PM. (OR)
- Good Friday April 18, 2025 at 10 am so that the decorating crew can set up the flowers in time for Good Friday Evening Service
It's a beautiful offering. Please bring preferably white flowers!
