Hi all,

Alex Agnew has been working with us to improve the Junior Etchells Program that we started last summer. Given the feedback that we received from coaches, parent volunteers, and sailors from last season, we've decided to offer different models for the program this summer.

For those who can fully commit for the season and are interested in being on a competitive boat, we will need 4 participants to sail Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday nights. The cost will be $750 for the season (June 21 - August 31).

For those who are interested in being involved but cannot commit to so many nights throughout the summer, we will have another option for teams that will be made up of 10-12 participants at $250 for the season. This boats will rotate 3 kids per race and 6 kids per practice, with a coach or parent coordinator organizing who will sail on what nights.

I believe that this is a great opportunity for our high school sailors. Getting out on Casco Bay for the evening races is a fun way to stay connected to the sport in a way that goes beyond 420 dinghy sailing. 

We have some interested coaches and parent volunteers from last year. Please talk to your team about this program to see if anyone wants to get involved. It would also be great to have any of you involved, as well! I've attached a draft of the proposal for the summer program. Please let Alex or me know if you haven't any questions.
