Hi folks,

I have a process that I need to assign the next task (or lane) to a user's immediate superior. So, if a user is doing a request, the approval step must go to his manager. If another user is doing a request, the approval step must go to his manager, that might not be the same for the previous user.

What is the best practice to do this?

I thought on:

1) Define a user attribute that has the superior information, and assign the next step to the value on this attribute?

2) Create a collection to keep the organization hierarchy?

3) Use the "Organization" feed to extracted a user's superior?

Thanks,

Hi Eduardo,

Does each user only have a single manager ?
If so, you should consider using the user's metadata to store his manager email.

You should consider using a collection to store the information if the hierarchy is more complex (several managers for a user and a manager is chosen based on a value from the form, for example) or if there's often turnovers in the company or if the customer wants to administrate himself those rules through a collection backoffice.
