Hello,
I am quite new to RunMyProcess and I'm trying to learn as much as I can. I managed to do several things, but now that I am trying to create a connector, I have some problems. I'm following the procedure to configure a task reminder email (http://docs.runmyprocess.com/Developer_Guide/Process/Design/Task_Reminder_Email). When I try to save the new connector I get "error when trying to save the connector". The same happens if I try to save whatever connector I create (like the one in the attached photo). I guess maybe the problem is in the Provider (I use RunMyProcess Server that is the one that appears when I click "Choose a provider"), maybe I don't have access to it? How can I understand which is the problem, if the error message is so vague?
Thanks,
Daniela

Hi Daniela,

The error may be due to the Provider you are attaching in connector.
1. Please build Custom Provider with same configuration as RunMyProcess Server.
2. Use this custom Provider in your connector and save.

Attachment is missing in below mail to sent.

Hope this will help you. If not feel free to contact us.

Thanks.
Prachi

Hello Prachi,
thank you for your answer. I'm sorry for the missing image.
So:
- I have created a new provider called "Provider_RMP_test", but I choose Authentication scheme: None (that is different from the configuration of RunMyProcess Server). See attached photo (providers.png).
- I have followed every step of the tutorial in the link and I could create new connectors.
- When I had to create the new connector "Kick task reminder process", I configured it in the same way of the connector that opens when clicking on "open corresponding connector" from the "task reminder process" (in my case this connector is called "reminder process", in the tutorial it is named "CONNECTOR - task reminder"), BUT I noticed that in the connector "reminder process" the provider was RunMyProcess Server (and this can't be changed). I could not choose that provider when creating the new connector, otherwise I couldn't save the connector. So I used the provider "Provider_RMP_test" that I had created. See image "connectors.png".
- I tried to launch the process and the result was that the task was correctly assigned to me (I saw the notification on runmyprocess) and I could complete it, but no mail arrived.

The last thing that I have tried is to change the configuration of the provider "Provider_RMP_test", choosing Autenthication scheme: login/password so it was identical to RunMyProcess Server. So I launched the process again, but this time the task wasn't even assigned to me, it was marked as completed as soon as I clicked the button on the webinterface that was supposed to launch the process.

Hello Daniela,

Good day,

Can you please make sure that your application is in ACCEPTANCE mode, only then you will be receive mail. In TEST mode, no mails sended by runmyprocess server. You need to move your application/project in acceptance mode by creating its version then run your application in ACCEPTANCE mode.

Hope this helps you. If you have any further query, please feel free to contact us.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Gunjan,
I can't run the application in acceptance mode, because I can't select 'acceptance' from the versions tab (there is only 'test' and I can't click on it). Maybe my account doesn't have all the privileges.

Anyway, I have also another process which has a manual activity that sends a notification by email and in this case the email is sent (always in test mode). So I don't think the problem is the mode in which the application runs.

Thank you,
Daniela

Hello Daniela,

I think you have account with RunMyProcess as user profile that's why you don't have privilege to move your application in ACCEPTANCE mode. One more thing is, you can receive mails only on your registered email id with RunMyProcess account. If you are trying to add any other email id to receive mails from RunMyProcess server then only it needs ACCEPTANCE mode.

I have tried as per you said, but its working fine. You need to just follow steps given in document.

If you still need any clarification, please don't hesitate to contact with us.

Thanks & Regards

Hello Gunjan and Prachi,
sorry for the delay.
I have checked again, but it's not working for me, and I use the same email that I use to login.

Some doubts I have:
- in the main process, which are the input variables to provide inside the activity 'kick email sending process as WS'? The tutorial talks about the variable task_url but then shows an image with 2 variables (task_url e P_mode). Maybe I'm missing something there..
- If I use the provider 'Provider RMP test', created by me, with 'authentication: none', when I trigger the process, the task is assigned to the right person (that is always me, being in test mode), but no email is sent. In this case, it is like the process skipped the activity that should send the email, and jump the the activity where the task is assigned to the manager.
If I set 'Authentication: user/password' then the task is marked as complete instead of being assigned to the person chosen in the web interface and no email is sent, so it is like the process jumps to the end event.

Hi Daniela,

As per the documentation provided in user guide, please find the below solution to your queries.

1.You need to pass both the input parameters task_url and P_mode in the activity(kick email sending process as WS).These parameters are mandatory because they are pass into the connector url to trigger the process.

2.Can you please check whether you have tick the checkbox "Notify via email" in the activity.Check this box if you want the notification to be via email.

Please find the attached screenshot(Notify via email.png).

Hope this helps you. Please let us know if you have any further queries.

Thanks & Regards,

Hello,
I had put both input variables, so that part was OK.
As regards 'notify by email', I don't think it should be checked inside the activity 'task assigned to the manager', because the email should be send by the previous activity (kick email sending process as WS).
There must be some error inside 'kick email sending process as WS', maybe I am missing something.
For instance,
1) the tutorial says I have to create a new connector (Kick task reminder process) with the exact configuration I see when clicking on Open corresponding connector in the reminder process; but from the picture I don't understand where I can find the text that goes inside RESULT TRANSFORMATION. In the opened connector you can't click ok result trasformation!
2) in the activity 'kick email sending process as WS', my url connector is a bit different from the one that is in the tutorial (I have also '&P_version=${P_version}' at the end). Could it be a problem?
