How to format number fields used in web interface reports

I created a parameter - ${array_abcd_po.subtotal}

It displays as ["100"] when set type as text. Nothing displays when type is Number. How can I get it to display as 100?

Hi Joanne,

If you are sure that the array will everytime include only 1 entry, you can write ${array_abcd_po.subtotal[0]?number}

Thanks for your response.   I meant another field which is a text field - ${array_abcd_po[0].item_description}  displays ["Item QAZ93847663"]
