Abort process from report

Hi Team,

I have a process with multiple manual steps that I need the ability to abort from a report.

I have looked at the discussion in the below link and am having the same problem. I do not want the users themselves to be able to cancel / restart the process. I want this to be done from a web interface report accessible managers of those who use the process.

Is it possible to do this? Can a CAPI be used? If so could someone please provide an example?
