Hi
I have a prospect is evaluating RMP at the moment. They want to create an application to collect the questionnaire from all customers to see the satisfaction on their service. The result of customer filled will be stored in the collection for record. The requirement of prospect is to keep the collection as private, not public for security reason.

The questions are as following,
1. When Web interface and process are public, then how about the collection? Do I need to make collection to be public, because I am not sure whether the application will work to keep the collection to be private.
2. If I check the “Public tab”, who can access the collection? It means only all the users in that RMP account have the right to access it without authentication? Or even boarder than that?

Thank you.
Wei

Hi Wei,

Please find my comment below:-

  1. 1. When Web interface and process are public, then how about the collection? Do I need to make collection to be public, because I am not sure whether the application will work to keep the collection to be private. Response:- If Web Interface and process is public, collection needs to be public for any Read/Write/Delete operation.
  2.  If I check the “Public tab”, who can access the collection? It means only all the users in that RMP account have the right to access it without authentication? Or even boarder than that?:- On public collection, any user can perform REad/Write/Delete opertaion.
Please refer to below link for access levels on collection:-

Thank you,

Hi Pankaj

Thank you very much for your reply.
If the customer needs to keep the collection in private, what is the solution to answer the requirement.

They just don't allow the collection to go to public.

Best Regards
Wei

Hi Pankaj

One more thing I'd like to confirm is that, the user in the manual is the user who
passed authentication, I am right ?
I mean that they not the users who fill the public form.

Thank you !

Other any workaround to keep the collection in private while the Web interface and process are public.

Sorry to interrupt you again...
Thank you very much.

Good Morning Wei,

If your web interface is public, I suggest you to make the collection public. In fact, public web interface => Anonymous users can access it. So, these anonymous users should be able to read / write / delete data from collection; this is possible only with public collections.

2. If I check the “Public tab”, who can access the collection? It means only all the users in that RMP account have the right to access it without authentication? Or even boarder than that?
Public Tab means all RMP and non RMP users can access the collection. In the link below, you can find all details about collection rights access.

Best Regards,

Richard
