Hi Mosa,

You can only edit (add or remove resources) from your project version in Test mode only.

As you are not able to check the keep updated option, might be because of you are not included that Process/ WI or any other resources in your project version.

Firstly you have to check the included option (which is just after the resource name) in your project version resources tab . After including that resource you can see the Keep Updated option will be enable for you.

Please let us know, if you still facing the same issue.

Thanks & Regards,
Shobhit

Hi Shobhit,

I have created a new version with updated process and for the old version I unticked keep updated for the same process in order to keep the old instances working on the old version , and this What I have selected (old version) for uncompleted instances , but I have faced an issue than When I complete the old instances all of them have taken the new changes that I have made on process in new version.(the new changes are that I define a new computer parameters), I noticed that those computed parameters are defined again in old instances although that I untick keep updated OPTION untick AND keep all old instances working on old version.

Is there any problem?
Please Advise.

Hi Mosa,
Would you uncheck the "Keep Updated" option for your new version and check what is happening.May be because you have included the same process in the new version and kept it updated,so only the old instances are getting updated and now even if you run the same process in LIVE mode with old version, you cannot find the old process instances because they are replaced by new instances since you already executed the same process in LIVE mode with new version keeping the process updated.

Thanks & Regards
Bidisha

Hi Mosa,

Is my summary of the information you have given correct?

OLD version had "keep updated"=YES. And, old instances keeps running in this version.

NEW version has "keep updated"=NO. And, only new instances run in this version.

Now, your questions is, why old instances gets error from new changes made in process design?
Then, it is because old instances are running in the version that has "keep updated"=YES.

Quick solutions would be to change the version and parameters of each process instances running in old version.
Do you have many old instances?

Best regards,

Taka

Hi Mosa,

There have been many back and forth, getting confusing.
Let's make small steps moving forward.

Can you first confirm that you have a version of application where there is NO resource set to "keep updated"?

And, you can run NEW instances in this version, and then new changes made in resource, and confirm that those new changes do not affect the NEW instance you started?

Best regards,

Taka

Hi Gareth,

As per conversation on Google Hangout before one week , I had followed your advise again, but with no luck, Could you please provide me with another solution in order to solve an issue or explain to me in more details if I had misunderstood what you had mentioned.

I had implemented the below steps :

We already have a running instance on the old Version(A)
Then I had created a new version(B) with untick Keep updated and with include all resourced ticked.

Then Update and implement a changes on a process and then create a new version (C) with tick Keep updated and All Resources included, then The system Asked me which version to be used for old instances , I had selected the (B) version with old version, old process without any changes.

Now when I am trying to proceed with old instances then I noticed that instances proceed with new process with changes(weird behavior , it should be worked with old process without any changes and with old version)

Please Advise me again with new solution or correct me If i had any issue in implementing your solution.

Thank you for your prompt response.
