Getting date from Text Input Type Date into script variable

Hi

I have set a Text Input widget as Type Date. When I am trying to extract date selected into a variable, I am getting error.

I have tested in Test Console also as alert(id_enquiry_date.getDate()). However it is reporting error in Test Console also (shows #N/A).

Availabe, Active and Visible checkboxes are in Rules tab for the widget
