Manual Manager Entry failure

I'm still working through the tutorial video (currently on #7), but my process keeps failing at the "Manager approval" stage.

Error feedback:

I'm using the generic ${P_user.login}as who the email is from, and I'm sending it to the manager on the account, but he hasn't (and I haven't) been getting any emails. Even if I switch the manager over to me (the designer), no response.

Where is my user/passcode ever entered in that first step that it already is rejecting it?

Have you selected default mail server or any other mail provider to send emails?
Can you please send the screenshot of your process design?

Can you please provide me the screenshot of computed parameters after process execution.also send screenshot of internal parameters.I need to check the value for choice variable,whether it is same as per you specified in Gateway.

So in gateway,you need to put conditions like e.g. branch approve it will be choice=="approved" and for branch reject it will be default.

I'm now correctly receiving emails, but my test project (vacation request) keeps generating a "negative" response. The manager clicks "approve" and instead the project shoots back "Vacation denial" emails. 

When I enter my choice variables into the Gateway (diamond function) it actually results in a complete error (no choice being made). When I remove the variable choice="rejected" and choice="approved" it will then generate only a "Your vacation request has been denied" email. Never a "positive" response.

then you can choose default mail server as provider of this project  for email task.

But as it is in TEST mode,only initiator of process will receive emails and not the intended recipient.

Under "Notify Via email" check box I chose "Google Provider" as my provider (which I assumed was how the email assigned to "Manager" was being sent)
