Event Condition

Hi,

I have been doing some trials with Event condition, but I'm not getting the way in which it works, and the documentation barely has a couple of lines explaining it (in the releases notes), so...

Could you please, explain me how the start and intermediary event of type condition work? If you could provide me an example working, I would be very grateful.

Hi Javier,

Please find the Start and Intermediary event details as below:-

Start Event:- This event is used for triggering the Process, you already using it by triggering the process, a process can be configured to trigger the process 

• None: the process can only be launched through a POST request (ie a web service call) or a RunMyProcess web interface.
• Message: the process can also be launched through an email.
• Timer: the process can be scheduled to launch itself automatically at a predefined frequency.

Intermediary Event:- This event  you to start a new branch for a process directly from a task in case this task is cancelled or is failing or has not been performed in a given duration. Please refer to attached screen print for more details.

Maybe I was not clear... I was referring to the recent Event CONDITION and his different modes Start and intermediary.
I attach an image of the event I was referring to...
I would like to know how to use this kind of event, his purposses, when is a good idea to use it, etc.

Hi Javier,

In addition to the already supported process triggers (email, schedule, WS, WI), you can trigger the process by condition also. In a Composite API (CAPI), you can execute the logic and based on the output of the CAPI, the process will be triggered. 

A Composite API is considered to return true, when one of the variable returned by the CAPI is “output” and its value is true. If this condition is met, all the variables of the CAPI and injected as initial parameters in the request. Please refer to attached screen-print for reference.

Note:- Like Timer, it executed only in LIVE & ACCEPTANCE not in TEST.

Regarding to these events, then how the intermediary condition event works?
Does It stop the process until getting the output: true variable?
Does it execute the CAPI periodically for checking it? In affirmative case, how often is it checked? Otherwise, how the intermediary version works?

Please find below guidelines for intermediary condition and answer to your questions.

1.How the intermediary condition event works?

- An event realization being a Composite API returning true. We can therefore listen - via a Composite API launched regularly, to a simple event or to an aggregation of events.

Does It stop the process until getting the output true variable?

- Yes,It will paused process until getting value true.

Does it execute the CAPI periodically for checking it?

- Yes.

In affirmative case, how often is it checked? Otherwise, how the intermediary version works?

- User have to set Execution frequency(min) for Composite API. So it will check time(min) user has specified.
