Can I specify a reply-to address in an email sent via the SEC SMTP Adapter?
I've tried "reply-to", "replyto", "reply to", "reply" as request attributes, without success.

Also, what about CC and BCC recipients?

Hi Tom,

These attributes are not to configure into the SMTP provider but into the message task configuration panel (refer screenshot below).

Best regards.

Hi Dimitri,

I want to use the new SEC SMTP Adapter for process email. We want our email to come From: addresses on our domain and be sent from our own mail server, not a Google account, but our corporate email server will not allow an email claiming to be From: an address at our domain to originate outside our network.
The SEC tunnel with an SMTP Adapter promised a way of making those emails originate within our network.

There appear to be two problems, however:
1) I can see no way of using the SEC SMTP Adapter as a provider for a process Email task - its protocol is http: and the Email task provider selector only shows providers with smtp: protocol.

2) The documentation for the SEC SMTP Adapter shows a very limited selection of email headers, far fewer than offered by an Email task, and not including Reply-to:, CC:, or BCC: which we use.

Is there any way around these issues, or any plan to improve the functionality of the SEC SMTP Adapter?

Hi Tom,

I believe you are right. Calls to SMTP adaptor requires a Connector activity, set to HTTP.

If you want to send task notifications, you can use ${get_next_url(stepId, isPublic)} to generate the URL, and send it in the POST request.

The "body" key in the JSON data is the place you can write the message you need, so you can make this as a variable ${email_body} or something in Connector design, and inject the body message from process.

About Reply-to, CC, BCC, it might be just documentation missing. I need to ask product team about it.
Hopefully, code is implemented to set those fields.

Best regards,

Taka

Hi Tom,

Our current generally available SMTP adaptor does not support Reply-to, CC and BCC headers and will be available in next platform release. However, we have developed (in private beta) an updated SMTP adaptor supporting  Reply-to, CC and BCC headers. We can send its zip file with a sample POST content body to you. You will need to delete your exisitng adaptor and unzip the new updated one there.

Let us know if you are interested to use our updated beta adaptor then I can send it to your email directly.
