Hello,
is there a difference between test and production in the sender that appears in the email notification ?
During a test, as sender of the notification, appears always the person who developed the process, even if the task has a specific user in the "From" field.
Is it correct ?

Thank you.

Hi Luigi,

Yes, this is specific to TEST mode, all emails are sent to the initiator of the process, regardless of the adress in the From field.
The behaviour is also the same for manual tasks, there are all assigned to the initiator of the process, regardless again of the user specified in the "Assign to" field.
This is in order to facilitate the debugging for the developer and not to send test emails to persons who may not be aware of the project yet.

You've maybe noticed but you can see at the top of all emails sent in TEST mode the three following lines :
To: [te...@test.com]
Cc: []
Bcc: []

This indicates you who it should have been sent to if you were in LIVE mode.
These lines therefore won't be there in the "real" LIVE mode mails.

Thank you, Gareth, but I mean if the "author" of the notification that arrives to the initiator of the test is the person who developed the process, even if the task has another user in the "From" field.

Luigi

Hi Luigi,

Sorry for my answer, that wasn't really what you wanted.
No, in fact the "From" of the mail is not the developer of the process, but the login of the provider you are using to send the mail, and this is the address you should always put as the From of your emails.

Nevertheless, you can display the name of someone else next to the email address it is really sent with.
This is the syntax you can use in the "From" field :
"Name you want to display"<your_mail_pr...@provider.com>

Hope that can suit you.

Thank you, Gareth.
Yes, now it is quite clear.
So:
- if I put i.e "${P_user.login}" in the "From" field
while the provider login is "us...@xyz.com",
would RMP ignore my "From" and put "us...@xyz.com" as sender, instead ?

- if I put in the "From" field
"${P_user.login}"<us...@xyz.com>
should it work ?

Thanks again,
Luigi

Hi,

Yes that's it, you could even put ${P_user.name} instead of the login.
But I guess this display (showing what is between " " instead of the "real" address) could depend on the mail system.
